Kimberlee Welch, CPDT-KA, CGCE, CAP II
I first fell in love with dog training when I got my dog Gus (Yellow Lab) as a puppy. (Sadly, Gus Passed away on April 23, 2018 one day after his 13th birthday). When Gus was 2 years old we got Woodrow (Chocolate Lab) so Gus would have a playmate. After taking both of them to every class and seminar I could find, I realized that I had finally found my life's passion.
I have always loved animals, especially dogs and was in awe of how they learned and communicated with us and each other. In 2009 I began my journey into this amazing profession. I left my job of 20+ years with an insurance company and opened my own dog business. I started out doing pet sitting and dog walking. I adopted Molly (in the pink harness) in October of 2011, and in the fall of 2014 I was given ownership of her litter mate Mike (not pictured here). They are rescue's from the Turks & Caicos islands called Potcakes. I also ran a doggy daycare from 2011 - 2012. I earned my certification as a professional dog trainer through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, in 2012. To maintain that certification I must earn 36 continuing ed units every 3 years. I am a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), certified in Pet 1st Aid & CPR, a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (CGCE) through the AKC, and hold a level two certification in Clicker Training (CAP II). I further my education by regularly attending workshops, seminars, webinars, and reading. I've also earned several titles in Rally Obedience with my own dogs.
